These two charming buildings provide workshop space and storage while they add magic to the garden. The family they belong to has dubbed them “The Twins”. Simple in concept, the Twins also create a sheltered and private outdoor space under the trellis, linking the two structures and providing support for the roses designed to cover it and provide shade for outdoor parties, BBQs or relaxation.
They are designed to allow conversion to a living unit in the future with minimal changes.
The construction of the Twins was in part a DIY project for the homeowner and incorporates many sustainable design elements. These include salvaged doors and windows, blue jeans insulation, increased venting and airflow and natural light. Both buildings have interior platforms eight feet above the floor which allow the use of the full volume up to the rafters.
