KTA is on Citicorp's select list of pre-qualified architects and has provided design services for several projects in a long-standing business relationship. Citicorp requires ongoing changes to their offices and banking facilities in response to the changes in technology and the financial markets. Designs must make the most efficient use of the high-priced real estate in downtown San Francisco. Short turnaround times are essential in today's rapidly changing economy.
KTA has handled a number of projects to quickly and effectively relocate, consolidate or rearrange departments within Citicorp's One Sansome Street high-rise and other downtown buildings. Because the required work varies on each project, KTA begins with a careful assessment of the client's needs.
New office space layouts are created to accommodate the specific work of a department. Designs reflect the work group's or department's individuality. Classic finishes are selected to correspond with the banking firm's business-oriented identity. High-end features like curved walls, floor to ceiling glass, natural wood and metal finishes are used judiciously to offer maximum impact. KTA also coordinates power, telecommunications, data, heating and cooling needs.
KTA has also worked on several bank branches. The exterior remodel of Citicorp's Chinatown branch involved adding an enclosed area for ATM machines while preserving the Chinoiserie façade. For an interior remodeling project at the bank's 260 California Street branch, KTA responded to a new trend in banking practices by creating more room for one-on-one meetings between customers and personal bankers.
